Rising Stars Shine Bright: Certificate of Recognition from California State Assemblywoman Cottie Petrie-Norris

Last month, the talent and creativity of four outstanding students from our institution reached new heights as they emerged as victorious winners in the prestigious Irvine Unified School District (IUSD) Earth Day Poster Contest. This remarkable achievement showcases the dedication and commitment of our young scholars to environmental stewardship and artistic expression.

Among the triumphant quartet, three extraordinary individuals—S. Hwangbo, H. Lee, and E. Law—have garnered additional recognition for their exceptional contributions. California State Assembly member, Cottie Petrie-Norris, an esteemed American politician representing the 73rd Assembly District, encompassing inland Orange County communities of Costa Mesa, Irvine, and Tustin, personally acknowledged and honored these remarkable students with well-deserved certificates of recognition.

Cottie Petrie-Norris, a Democrat known for her tireless advocacy for social and environmental causes, has long been a champion for the youth and education in her district. Her acknowledgement of our students' accomplishments underscores the significance of their work in fostering environmental awareness and highlighting the importance of preserving our planet for future generations. She said on the certification,

“On behalf of the California State Assembly, congratulations on winning the Irvine Unified School District’s Earth Day poster contest. Your creativity and passion for protecting the environment and showcasing the importance of reducing food waste is highly commendable.”

We extend our warmest congratulations to all four talented students for their exceptional achievements in the IUSD Earth Day Poster Contest. Their dedication to creativity, environmental consciousness, and academic excellence serves as an inspiration to their peers and a source of pride for our educational institution.

As we celebrate these young stars and their well-earned accolades, we also express our gratitude to Assemblymember Cottie Petrie-Norris for her unwavering support of educational initiatives and her commitment to empowering the youth to become responsible stewards of the environment. Together, we forge a path towards a greener, more sustainable future, guided by the passion and innovation of our remarkable students.
